Why do people ociate evolution with atheism?

Most religions (actually, all of them as far as I know) do not mention evolution in their holy scriptures. Also, nearly all atheists do accept evolution. Therefore, people who consider their religion to the the central plank in their lives are likely to reject evolution and ociate it by default with atheism.
