What is with Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam, U2, going down hill?

I use to love pearl jam and u2, but now it would seem they don't put out good music anymore...with every new album.....it gets worse and worse...does anyone agree? it's like they don't know how to make a good song, and here the chili peppers put out nothing but good music, I just don't get it!!!
